The RFNSW Conference from a TWAL Member View

by Karen Walsh

I would like to thank Jacquelene from TWAL for the invite to be seated at the TWAL table at this year’s RFNSW Conference & awards on Thursday 19th September 2019 at the Waterview in Sydney.  It was a great day and a great opportunity to meet and network with other TWAL members and Business owners.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Conference program and hearing from the mix of keynote presenters and panel talks throughout the day.  There were also plenty of giveaways and great prizes in the Auction after the awards lunch.

For me the value of the Conference was hearing and learning from a wide range of speakers from Government to NSW Police as well as operators, the key takeaways were about safety.  While the industry is working very hard on the road safety issue, there is still a lot of work to do.

I have worked in the Telematics Industry across Australia for the past 11 years and work as a Business Development Manager for Nationwide Tracking Systems who are a leading supplier of Compliance and Telematics solutions for Teletrac Navman based in Sydney.

I enjoy meeting with potential and existing clients, finding out how their business operates and talking about the daily challenges Transport operators face.  I am passionate about making sure my clients are using the solution to its full potential and have a strong focus on Account Management.

It is rewarding to see my clients receive the benefits of the Telematics solution, it gives you the tools to manage compliance effectively regardless of how big or small your fleet is.

Having the right tools and information at your disposal makes a huge difference, the Telematics data allows businesses to manage compliance proactively, not as violations occur. After all, data plays a central role in navigating this complex regulatory environment and helps keep you compliant.

Outside of work I enjoy following my AFL team, watching Netball and I am a keen traveller. I look forward to attending more events with Transport Women Australia Limited and connecting with women in the Industry.

Data has always been a hot commodity for businesses and how that data was gathered, stored and used was never questioned. Until now.
